Martin R. Iness, PE, SE

Contributing to GMA since 1985

Education/Degrees/Licenses:  Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, 1985.  Marty holds both civil and structural licenses in California.  He was GMA’s first “real” employee, starting at GMA when he graduated from college.  Marty claims his area of expertise is engineering any structure that has the potential to fall down!  In every project he does, his goal is to design a “better mousetrap.”

Marty, as a GMA project engineer, is an expert in the design of structures constructed with all types of materials.  While the number of projects he has engineered are almost countless, some of his favorites are:

Multiple Float Glass Plants located in the USA and Mexico

Large Steel Bins built by Steel Structure for customers such as Foster Farms and Western Milling.

Marty is a Fresno native.  He grew up working in his father’s architectural office prior to graduating from California State University, Fresno.  He enjoys his family above all and long walks with his wife, throwing pizza parties at their backyard pizza oven and watching college football.  He is also a Civil War history buff.
